The above 45 degree leg press is without a doubt one of the most ruggedly constructed in the industry. The double sided frame has almost been forgotten in the industry where a single “down the middle frame” is all that supports the machine.
The carriage travels in a channel constructed of a combination of 1/4” 3 x 5” angle iron and a 2” x 3” x 1/8” rectangular steel tubing.
The carriage travels on four (4” hard rubber wheels with 5/8” needle bearing core. Lateral support is provided by another four, 2” hard rubber wheel. Unlike the linear bearing systems that some manufactures still market, the above system that we employ will continue to work for decades with minimal maintenance costs. Most manufactures have moved away from the linear bearing systems because their customers have been upset with the high maintenance cost of these systems. |
